Heathrow Terminal 4 Chooses SITA / ESP

With the opening of Terminal 5 at London Heathrow Airport British Airways is relocating all of it’s Heathrow based flights to it’s new home over the early part of 2008.

As Terminal 4 has always predominately been the home of British Airways the BAA are taking the opportunity to utilize the space freed up to relocate a number of the Airlines currently using the Central Terminal Area (1,2 and 3) to Terminal 4. This in turn will allow the BAA to redevelop and modernize the CTA.SITA, one of the world’s leading suppliers of Airport/Airline Systems, has won the contract to provide their Common Usage Platform (CUTE) as the new Terminal 4 system for Check In and Boarding Gates.

SITA in turn have awarded the contract for the Support and Maintenance of the IT equipment deployed to support the new systems to ESP who will be responsible for maintaining a base of over 1000 pieces of equipment to Service Levels of 30 minutes Call to Fix  365 days a year between the hours 0f 04:00 to 23:00.
